This week's Boston University Student-Athlete of the Week is Jenelle Kohanchuk, a sophomore forward on the women's ice hockey team from Winnipeg, Man.
Kohanchuk became the first player in Boston University women's hockey history to score four goals in one game, single-handedly lifting her team to a 4-2 win against Wayne State on Saturday. Last year's point leader, Kohanchuk had never scored more than two goals in a single game and joins a list of just three other BU players who have scored three or more in one contest.
The sophomore wasted little time getting her team on the board against the Warriors, potting her first score just 16 seconds into the game. After converting on her own rebound in the second period, Kohanchuk tallied two power-play scores to finish her record-setting day. She is now tied for the team lead in points (5) and leads the team in goals (5).
