Watchorn Named to New England All-Star Team

SAUGUS, Mass. - Boston University freshman defenseman Tara Watchorn was named to the Women's Division I New England Hockey Writers All-Star Team, awarded Monday night at the New England Hockey Writers annual award banquet at the Prince Restaurant. Watchorn led the Terriers' blueliners with six goals this season and added 10 assists and a plus-6 rating on the year.
Watchorn had previously been named to the Hockey East all-star second team and the Hockey East all-rookie team. The Newcastle, Ont., native is the first Terrier defenseman and only the second BU women's player to earn all-New England honors after goaltender Allyse Wilcox made the team last season. Watchorn is the only freshman on this season's all-star team.
