Women's Soccer Continues AE Regular Season Dominance

Oct. 18, 2012

BOSTON - With Sunday’s home game against New Hampshire still remaining, the Boston University women’s soccer team has clinched its sixth straight America East regular season title on Thursday afternoon following Hartford’s 2-0 loss at Vermont.

BU, the only undefeated team in America East action (7-0-0), claims the regular season title outright with one conference game remaining due to the Hawks suffering their second conference defeat.

Currently in her 18th year as head coach of the Terriers, Nancy Feldman has now led BU to 10 regular season conference titles, with all of them coming in the last 13 years.

The Terriers (11-6-1) own a 31-game winning streak against conference opponents entering Sunday’s match against New Hampshire, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. After honoring its two seniors, BU will try to finish the year with an undefeated conference record for the fifth time in program history.

Banned from the America East tournament due to the school’s move to the Patriot League in 2013, the Terriers will be unable to compete for their sixth consecutive championship crown.

Following Sunday’s game, BU will await word on a possible NCAA at-large bid. The selection show will air live on NCAA.com at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.
