No. 13 Men's Crew Travels to No. 7 Wisconsin Saturday

April 27, 2012

BOSTON - Looking for its first Jablonic Cup victory since 2005, the No. 13 Boston University men's crew will conclude the regular season with a trip to No. 7 Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon. The action is set to begin at 4 p.m. ET.

Last year, the Terriers won a school-record five cups and entered their race against the Badgers with an undefeated dual record. Keeping its winning streak alive in the rivalry, Wisconsin had a seven-seat lead at the midway point and held off a strong BU charge for a slim 0.3 second victory.

Though the Terriers have not won the Cup since 2005, they did have some revenge at the 2009 IRAs against the Badgers by claiming the last remaining Grand Final berth by 0.4 seconds in a thrilling down-to-the-wire race.

There will be one race on the Charles River Saturday, as the third varsity eight boat will face Harvard's 3V8 boat at approximately 7:30 a.m.

After Saturday's race, BU will next compete at the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass., on Sunday, May 13.
