Inside Lacrosse Q&A | Interview on Lacrosse Talk Radio Show (starts at 62:40)

Ryan Polley was introduced as the inaugural head men's lacrosse coach on Thursday at a reception held at the Francis D. Burke Club Room at Agganis Arena.

Members of the Boston University community were on hand to welcome Polley and his family to campus. Both Polley and Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Mike Lynch gave remarks at the reception.

"We feel like we came up with the perfect guy to lead our program into the future," Lynch said. "He comes to us with some great credentials, and beyond that, we really like him. He's a great guy."

"From the moment I came on campus, the community factor grabbed me and was one of the biggest reasons I wanted to be here," Polley said. "I promise that I will give 110 percent to this program and I'm very excited to get started."

Polley was named the inaugural head men's lacrosse coach on June 21 after spending the last six seasons as an assistant coach at Yale. This spring, he helped the Bulldogs claim the Ivy League tournament title with convincing wins over perennial powers Cornell and Princeton, earning the program's first NCAA bid since 1992 in the process.

"Ryan Polley is a home-run hire for BU. It's clear his contributions to the success of our program haven't gone unnoticed. Ryan has energy, passion, and commitment, and is a proven national recruiter who will relate well with the student-athletes at Boston University. We are sad to see him go, but he deserves this shot and everyone in the Yale lacrosse family is excited for him."
Andy Shay, Head Coach, Yale University

"I was fortunate enough to coach Ryan at Merrimack and watch him grow at Yale after he did great things with the Merrimack program. He's a young guy with great energy and I think he will do an unbelievable job as BU starts its program and enters the Patriot League."
Mike Murhpy, Head Coach, Colgate University

"Ryan Polley is a 'rising star' in college lacrosse. Boston University has made an outstanding selection in appointing Ryan as their head coach. He did a remarkable job for Yale and helped to build Yale lacrosse into a nationally recognized program. I am confident he will do the very same for Boston University".
Tom Beckett, Director of Athletics, Yale University

"Ryan Polley is a tremendous coach and was a big part of the recent success of the Yale lacrosse team. We know he will do a great job building a successful lacrosse program at Boston University and we wish him the best."
Tim Ford, Senior Associate Athletics Director, Yale University
