BOSTON - The No. 19 Boston University men’s ice hockey team will take the ice at Agganis Arena on Saturday (Oct. 5) when it hosts St. Francis Xavier for a preseason exhibition contest. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

The contest will be streamed live on Terrier TV. Fans can purchase the Terrier TV hockey package for $49.95 for the season or $9.95 per month and includes most men’s home games and all women's home contests. To sign up for Terrier TV, please click here.

Saturday’s game will mark the debut of David Quinn as the bench boss of the Terriers. He became the program’s 11th head coach in March following the retirement of Jack Parker. It will also mark the first game for associate head coach Steve Greeley and BU’s nine-member freshman class.

Senior defensemen Patrick MacGregor and Garrett Noonan were named the team’s co-captains on Friday and are part of a relatively small upperclassman group that includes five seniors and just two juniors.

St. Francis Xavier, a university in Nova Scotia, last visited Agganis for an exhibition two years ago and the X-Men skated away with a 6-4 victory.

The Terriers enter the season ranked 19th in the USCHO.com Division I Poll, which came out on Monday. BU was picked sixth in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches’ Poll after reaching the conference title game last season.
