The Boston University women's ice hockey team returns to Walter Brown Arena to begin a four-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when the Terriers face off against Vermont on Saturday afternoon. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m.
BU (5-1-1, 2-0-0 WHEA) is coming off a 3-1 win at New Hampshire on Friday night. Senior captain Louise Warren scored two third-period goals to break a 1-1 deadlock and keep the Terriers perfect through two Hockey East contests. Senior goaltender Kerrin Sperry made 22 saves in her 100th career appearance. Her next start will be the 100th of her career.
Saturday's showdown is just the second home game of the season for the Terriers. They defeated Yale, 2-1, on Oct. 26 in their home opener. BU went 17-2-0 at home last season, including a 17-1-0 mark at Walter Brown Arena.
Vermont (3-4-1, 1-0-0 WHEA) began league play with a 4-0 win at Connecticut on Friday afternoon. Junior Brittany Zuback had a hat trick and senior goaltender Roxanne Douville posted a 28-save shutout. Zuback and junior Amanda Pelkey each lead the team in goals (6), assists (6) and points (12). Douville and freshman Madison Litchfield have each played in five fixtures, with Douville earning the start in all five of her appearances.
Following Saturday's contest, BU will be back in action on Wednesday night when Connecticut visits Walter Brown Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
