Terriers End Fall Season on High Note at Tail of the Charles

Competing in the Tail of the Charles on Saturday, the Boston University men's rowing team took fourth in the varsity fours race while the third varsity eight boat had the fastest time in the open/freshman eights category.

Racing in its final event of the fall, the varsity four posted a time of 13:47.1, good for fourth place in a field of 34, behind only boats Harvard (A and B) and Northeastern. The A boat finished ahead of varsity boats from Brown, MIT and Union.

In the open eight race, BU's third varsity boat finished with the fastest time of any eight boat on the day. BU no longer boats strictly freshman boats so competing with 2 freshman in the open race, the third varsity eight boat finished with a time of 12:56.0. That time was the fastest in the open race and tenths of seconds faster than Harvard's or any team's first freshman boats which raced later in the freshman eight race.

The Terriers will focus on final exams and preparations for the spring season, which will begin on March 14, 2014, vs. Navy in Clemson, S.C.
