The No. 18 Boston University field hockey team will officially begin its Patriot League schedule on Saturday (Sept. 21) with a road contest against Colgate. The game, which will be broadcast live on the Patriot League Network, is set for an 11 a.m. start.

The Terriers (4-2) head to Hamilton, N.Y., looking for their fifth win of the season and are coming off a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory against Providence on Sunday. The Raiders (1-5), who opened their season with a five-game losing skid, earned their first win of the year on Sunday by topping St. Francis (Pa.) by a score of 3-1.

BU and Colgate will be meeting for the first time since 1986, when the Terriers earned a 1-0 win in Syracuse to take a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.

Saturday's contest will feature three players who collected Patriot League weekly honors on Monday. Junior Eliana Brown of Colgate accounted for all of her team's scoring in win over St. Francis to earn Offensive Player of the Week accolades.

Senior Ysi Schieb was the Defensive Player of the Week after assisting on both tallies against the Friars and helping to hold both opponents last week to a single goal. The PL Goalkeeper of the Week, junior Valentina Cerda Eimbcke stopped 14 of the 16 shots she faced last weekend and currently leads the League in both goals-against average (1.28) and save percentage (.826). Her save percentage ranks fourth in the nation.

Brown leads the Raiders in both points (13) and goals (6). Five of her teammates have scored one goal each, including senior Olivia Nabhan, who has a team-high two assists. Junior Amanda DiDomizio has played all six games in goal for Colgate this year and sports a 2.48 goals-against average and a .779 save percentage.

Sophomore Sofi Laurito, who scored the overtime winner against Providence, and freshman Amanda Cassera lead the Terriers in scoring with six points on three goals apiece. Schieb has added five points on the strength of a team-best three assists.

BU head coach Sally Starr will be making her first visit to Colgate since Aug. 28, 1979, when she was the helm of the Bucknell program. The Bison earned a 3-1 win in what was Starr's first-ever road game as a head coach.
