Four Terriers to Play for Olympic Gold

Feb. 17, 2014

SOCHI, Russia - Marie-Philip Poulin and former Boston University women's ice hockey players Jenn Wakefield, Catherine Ward and Tara Watchorn will play for an Olympic gold medal on Thursday when Canada faces off against the United States. Puck drop is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.

The Terrier foursome has been terrific in helping Canada to an unbeaten record in the Olympics. Poulin has tallied two goals and an assist while Watchorn scored her first-ever Olympic goal. Wakefield and Ward were instrumental in Canada's 3-1 win over Switzerland on Monday to advance to the gold-medal game. Both players earned a primary assist, with Wakefield's being her first Olympic point.

Win or lose, Poulin and Ward will earn a second Olympic medal; the duo won gold with Canada in 2010 and Poulin potted both of Canada's goals in the clinching contest. Wakefield and Watchorn will both earn their first Olympic medal in Sochi.

Fans will be able to watch the game live on NBC. It will also be streamed live here.
