Peabody Wins Hammer Award at World Indoor Rowing Championships

On Saturday, Feb. 16, at the C.R.A.S.H B's world indoor rowing championships, senior men's rowing co-captain Kyle Peabody finished with a time of 5:52.2 to take home "The Hammer" award given each year to the fastest U23 rower.

Peabody finished third overall out of more than 200 competitors. Senior Thaddeus Babiec finished with a time of 5:59.3 and was the fourth fastest U23 competitor and eighth fastest overall. Sophomore Oliver Salonna finished with a time of 6 minutes flat and was the seventh fastest U23 competitor and 11th overall to add to the Terrier's overall strong numbers.

The men's rowing team will begin its Spring season on March 13, vs. Navy at Clemson, S.C.

The C.R.A.S.H-B Sprints serve as the world indoor rowing championships and are raced over a distance of 2,000 meters on Concept2 rowing machines. It is held every February in Boston, most recently at Boston University's Agganis Arena.
