The Boston University women’s lightweight rowing team begins its spring season on Saturday when they take on Charles River foes Harvard and MIT at DeWolfe Boathouse starting at 8 a.m.
After a successful inaugural season that saw the Terriers win the lightweight four race at the Charles River Invite over boats from Harvard and Princeton as well as a strong showing at their first Eastern Sprints, the lightweights take to the water this spring hoping to improve.
“The veterans that we had last year are really good leaders,” said women’s lightweight head rowing coach Malcolm Doldron. “They did an excellent job of incorporating their new freshman teammates and encouraging them.”
After Saturday’s matchup, BU next races in the Knecht Cup in Collingswood, N.J. on April 19 and 20.
