The Boston University field hockey team resumes its rivalry with Boston College on Friday (Sept. 12) when it visits the 15th-ranked Eagles at Newton Campus Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

The Terriers (2-2) will look to go above .500 on the year after most recently posting a 1-0 home victory over Pacific on Sunday. BC is 3-1 on the season and is coming off a two-win weekend in which it posted a 3-1 road win over Providence before blanking UMass, 2-0, in its home opener.

The Eagles' lone loss this season came at the hands of Patriot League member Lafayette in a 4-2 contest on Aug. 30.

Sophomore Brittany Sheehan leads the Eagles in both points (10) and goals (5) while classmate Emily McCoy has added a pair of goals. Three other BC players have one tally on the season.

Junior goalkeeper Leah Setipane has two shutouts thus far this season and boasts a 1.25 goals-against average and a .773 save percentage.

For the Terriers, junior Sofi Laurito and sophomores Hester van der Laan and Amanda Cassera have two goals apiece this year. Sophomore Sara Martineau has found the back of the cage once.

Fresh off her first shutout of the season, senior Valentina Cerda Eimbcke has a 2.06 goals-against average to go along with a .640 save percentage.

The archrivals have alternated wins against each other over the past five seasons and BU holds a 17-16-3 edge in the all-time series. Last season, the Eagles posted a 1-0 win at New Balance Field.
