NFHCA Poll | NCAA RPI
BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey hockey team moved into the national rankings on Tuesday, coming in at No. 20 in the NFHCA Division I Poll. In the first NCAA RPI release of the year, the Terriers are 19th.
BU, which has the highest RPI of any Patriot League school, is 4-3 on the year with all three losses coming to ranked squads.
The Terriers jumped into the national poll following a two-win weekend. On Saturday, BU posted a 2-1 road win over Lafayette in the Patriot League opened before rallying at home for a thrilling 3-2 overtime triumph against Yale on Sunday.
Offensively, BU is paced by sophomore Amanda Cassera, who has scored a goal in four straight games and leads the team in both goals (5) and points (10) through seven games.
Senior captain Valentina Cerda Eimbcke sports a 1.86 goals-against average in the BU cage to go along with a .696 save percentage.
The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Sept. 26) when they play host to crosstown rival Northeastern. The game, which will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network, starts at 7 p.m.
