FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Three former Boston University women's ice hockey standouts skated in the inaugural Outdoor Women's Classic on Thursday at Gillette Stadium.

Shannon Doyle ('15) and Kaleigh Fratkin ('14) each skated for the Boston Pride of the NWHL while Marie-Philip Poulin ('15) played for Les Canadiennes of the CWHL. The teams played to a 1-1 tie.

Due to several Pride players participating at a USA Hockey camp, Fratkin and Doyle joined the squad from their regular team, the Connecticut Whale. Both players have had successful seasons with the Whale, including Fratkin, who leads all defensemen with 11 points.

Poulin has been outstanding for Les Canadiennes in her first post-collegiate season. She is tied for the league lead with 19 points thanks to 10 goals and nine assists.

Thursday's event was part of the NHL's Winter Classic which will culminate with a game between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens.
