USBWA All-District Teams List
ST. LOUIS - After earning Patriot League All-Conference First Team honors, Boston University men's basketball junior Eric Fanning has received All-District I Team accolades, the United States Basketball Writers Association announced Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement marked the fifth time in seven years a Terrier was recognized by the USBWA. Fanning was also the lone Patriot League representative to earn the regional award this season.
With the absence of last year's leading scorer in Cedric Hankerson, Fanning stepped up his scoring production by nearly three points and currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring at 15.3 ppg, highlighted by a 15.9 ppg average in PL action, while shooting a personal-best 49.4 percent from the field.
The Trenton, N.J., native reached the 20-point threshold five times, including a career-high 37-point performance in an 87-84 win over Loyola Maryland on the CBS Sports Network. He also stepped up in rebounding at 5.3 rpg and recorded his first three-career double-doubles to help the Terriers improve their win total by five games and finish third in the conference standings.
