Live Scoring | BU Today Preview
The Boston University golf team will look to win its second straight Patriot League Championship this weekend at the 54-hole tournament hosted at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
BU won by 10 shots last year to automatically qualify for its first-ever NCAA Regional appearance. Four of the five scorers from last year's team return, including defending champion Adela Cejnarova. She won by six shots over senior Emily Tillo and carded a conference record score of 222 over three rounds.
Tillo and sophomore Phyllis Tang joined Cejnarova as First Team All-Patriot League selections, with Tang winning Rookie of the Year honors. Also back for BU from last year's squad is Sarah Easton; she will be joined by freshman Megan Carter and senior Maddy Silverman. Carter will make her Patriot League debut while Silverman will play in her first conference tournament since 2014.
Unanimously picked as the preseason favorite back in March, the Terriers' top three players have averaged a score of 77.36 this season. Tillo and Cejnarova each have one top-five finish and two top-10 performances this season, with Tang also securing a top-10 finish and a team-best three rounds at par or better.
If the Terriers successfully defend their title, they will advance to an NCAA Regional for the second straight year. The 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships selections announcement will be Monday, April 25, at 6 p.m., on Golf Channel and streamed live on the Golf Channel website.
