Terriers Volunteer at Walk MS Boston on Sunday

Boston University student-athletes took part in Sunday's Walk MS Boston to raise awareness and funds for the National MS Society in its battle against multiple sclerosis. The annual event, which uses BU's Nickerson Field as its official start and finish line, mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure of the disease.

The entire BU women's soccer team volunteered for the event on Sunday morning. The Terriers arrived early, braved cold temps and snow and handed out medals at the finish line on their home turf, Nickerson Field. In addition, for a third-consecutive year the BU field hockey team raised funds for the MS event.

"My team had a blast volunteering for the MS walk," said women's soccer player Bridget Conway who helped organize her team's volunteer effort. "It was such a great experience to support the walkers. Even in blizzard like conditions the passionate group of people rallied together to support and walk for a great cause."
