Terriers Preseason Favorites in Hockey East, Fourth in USCHO Poll

BOSTON - WIth 10 out of a possible 11 first-place votes, Boston University is the favorite to claim the 2016-17 Hockey East regular-season title, as revealed in the league's Preseason Coaches Poll, which was announced at the annual Hockey East Media Day on Tuesday at TD Garden.

The Terriers also appeared at No. 4 in the Preseason USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll and received five first-place votes, which was more than any team except for North Dakota. BU's fourth-place showing is its highest in USCHO's preseason poll since 2009 when the Terriers were coming off their fifth national title and were picked second. The last time the Terriers were selected as the Hockey East favorite was also in 2009.
