Gruzen Competes at UConn Pentathlon

MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS

STORRS, Conn. –
Senior Jason Biesma of the men's track & field team broke the Boston University school record in the heptathlon competing at the two-day UConn Multi Event Challenge held on Thursday and Friday.

Biesma's 4,902 points broke the Boston University school record of 4,858 points which was set by Rich Haigh back in 2010. Biesma finished third in a field of 18. The Shawnee, Kan. native's best event was the long jump in which he finished tied for third with a leap of 7.01 meters, a new personal best. Biesma's previous best performance in the heptathlon came at last seasons' IC4As when he totaled 4,847 points.

Also competing for BU at the Multi Event Challenge was sophomore Ava Gruzen of the women's track & field team. Gruzen competed in the Pentathlon and recorded 2,657 points, good for seventh place in a field of 10.
 
The Terriers will next compete at the BU Mini Meet at the TTC on Saturday, Dec. 16.
