Senior Makayla Karr-Warner
and sophomore Janice Hagerman
of the Boston University women's lightweight rowing team earned Lightweight All-American honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, the organization announced this week.
Karr-Warner received the award for the third-consecutive year while Hagerman was recognized for the second time.
"I am extremely proud of Makayla and Janice for once again being named CRCA All-Americans," said women's lightweight rowing coach Malcolm Doldron
. "Both of these student-athletes are very hard workers, great teammates and incredible competitors. Their All-American honors are certainly well deserved."
Karr-Warner and Hagerman were both members of the Terriers' varsity lightweight eight boat that advanced to the grand finals and finished second at the IRA National Championship Regatta on June 4 in Sacramento, Calif. With Hagerman in the stroke seat and Karr-Warner in the five seat, the Terriers defeated crews from Harvard, Wisconsin, Georgetown and Princeton in the grand finals to take home silver. Their performance helped the Terriers finish as national runner-up to Stanford for the second-consecutive year.
