- Following leading the Boston University women's basketball past Army West Point, 60-59, in its Patriot League opener on Friday, sophomore Nia Irving
has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday.
Irving tallied her second straight double-double with a season-high 22 points on 11-for-18 shooting (.611 percent) and matched a career-high with 14 rebounds against the Black Knights. The Fairfield, Maine native scored the final four points for the Terriers, including netting the game-winning basket with 11.8 seconds left.
Irving has four double-doubles over the last 10 games and leads the Terriers with 11.5 and 7.1 rebounds per game.
