The Boston University men's and women's rowing teams, along with several BU alumni, competed in Day 1 of the 54th Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday. The day was highlighted by the men's third-place finish in the Club 4 race and the men's fourth-place finish in the Club 8 race.

HOW IT HAPPENED - MEN
The men's Club 8 boat, coxed by William Mulhall
and stroked by Andrew Marsh
, finished fourth among collegians in the Club 8 race with a time of 15:02.56 in a field of 36 boats. BU finished behind only of winner (14:46.85), second place Brown (14:56.25) and third place Dartmouth (14:57.49).

, BU finished with a time of third with a time of 17:06.96 in a large field of 55 boats.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN
Also competing on Saturday, the women's openweight rowing team competed in the Club 4 race. Coxed by freshman Olivia White
and stroked by classmate Rachael Chiao
, the Terriers finished 18th among collegians and 21st overall with a time of 20:04.53 in a field of 52 boats.
Earlier in the day, the BU Women's Alumni 8 boat finished 14th with a time of 18:45.60.
HOW IT HAPPENED – MASTERS
In an earlier morning race, men's head coach Thomas Bohrer
finished third in the men's grand masters singles race with a time of 19:32.45, finishing just ahead of BU boatman and archrival Russ Cone
who finished fourth with a time of 19:44.01 in a large field of 55 competitors.
The men's, women's and lightweight women's rowing teams will compete in Day 2 of the HOCR regatta on Sunday.
