BOSTON - The Boston University men's rowing team will be back on the Charles River this Saturday when they take on archrival Northeastern in the annual battle for the Arlett Cup.
The race for the Arlett Cup vs. Northeastern will be the first race of the morning on Saturday when the No. 8 Terriers' varsity eight takes on the No. 7 Huskies at 8:24 a.m. BU will be looking to win the Arlett Cup race for the fourth-consecutive year, which would be a first for the Terriers in the series between the two schools.
The rivalry between BU and NU dates back to their first meeting in 1966 with the Arlett Cup being introduced in 1982. The cup is named in honor of Ernie Arlett, the founding coach of men's rowing at Northeastern University. Arlett is also known as the "Father of the Head of the Charles Regatta".
A live broadcast of the race can be seen on the team's Facebook page by clicking HERE. Also, a live radio broadcast of the action can be heard by dialing (712) 432-4448 from your phone.
After this weekend's contest, the Terriers will face Dartmouth for the Bill Cup on April 14th in Hanover, N.H.
