Terriers Finish Fifth at Patriot League Championships

RESULTS

EASTON, Pa. - Highlighted by two gold medal victories by senior Tehya Noell, the Boston University women's track & field team finished fifth at the 2018 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championship which concluded Saturday at Lafayette College.
 
The Terriers finished with four gold medals and a total of 115.5 points, behind 2018 PL Outdoor Champion Navy (178.5 points) and runner-up Bucknell (141), Lehigh (134) and Army West Point (129).

TOP FINISHES

• Senior Tehya Noell won gold in the long jump on Friday with a leap of 6.04m (19'9.75"). Noell just outdistanced Kaitlin Salisbury of Bucknell who finished second with a leap of 6.03m.
• On Saturday, Noell won her second gold medal, winning the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.46, a new personal best. Noell beat out teammate Ally Saccone who finished second with a time of 13.82 to win silver.
• Sophomore Gillian Morrison won gold in the heptathlon with 4,769 points. Morrison took first in the 100m hurdles (14.64) and first in the long jump (5.30m) to finish ahead of Lehigh's Madison Harding who finished second with 4,474 points.
• In the field, Lovie Burleson won gold in the triple jump with a 12.18m (39'11.50") jump.
• The 4x100m relay team of Ally Saccone, Jordan Coverson, Ebony Brown and Tehya Noell won bronze, finishing third with a time of 46.57, behind Army (45.69) and Navy (45.98).
Ebony Brown won bronze in the 100m dash with a time of 11.90, setting a new personal best.  
Jordan Coverson won bronze in the 400m dash with a time of 55.84.
• In the final event of the meet, the BU 4x400m relay team of Cynthia Aroke, Jordan Coverson, Tehya Noell and Emily Turner finished fifth with a time of 3:52.28.

MISSING TERRIERS
• The Terriers were missing several important performers from their squad over the weekend. Sophomore Leah Fowlkes, who had the top conference time in the 400m dash and second-best time in the 200m dash, missed the championship. BU was also without sprinter Ayodele Adesanya and multi specialist and javelin thrower Christie Molloy.
