Michael Eskind joined the track and field coaching staff in August after serving as an assistant coach for the University of Florida men's track and field for the past three years. During his time with the Gators, Eskind helped the team earn four second-place finishes at the NCAA Championships (two indoor, two outdoor).

While in Gainesville, Eskind trained all the field athletes in addition to monitoring all of the Gators' weight room activity. He also helped identify and recruit potential student athletes and aided in administrative duties, including scheduling and meet management and organization, most notably the Florida Relays.

Eskind was a four-year letter winner at Wake Forest University, earning All-ACC recognition in 2002 and 2003 for the decathlon. A two-time Dean's list honoree, Eskind served as team captain in 2003 before earning team MVP honors that spring.

Eskind earned dual bachelor's degrees at Wake Forest in political science and communication in 2003 before obtaining a master's degree in exercise and sport sciences at Florida in 2005. He holds USA Track and Field Level I certification and Level II certification in sprints, relays and hurdles.
