Carl Adams entered his 25th year as the Terriers' head wrestling coach in 2006. He estimates that over the years he has coached approximately 250 wrestlers. To be called the "hardest working wrestler I have ever had here" is an incredible compliment yet that's what Adams says of Chris Studer.

"His goal was to be a national champion, and he knew what needed to be done to achieve that goal," said Adams.

While he was never a national champion, he was one of the most dominant wrestlers in the New England Conference. In fact, he was the conference champion each of his four years and he helped lead the Terriers to four straight conference team titles. He advanced to the NCAA tournament all four years and had a career-best eighth-place finish at the 1993 NCAAs, helping him become just the second Terrier to ever capture All-America honors.

During his Terrier career, he compiled a 113-22-1 record. As a freshman during the 1990-91 season, he was 25-7-1 and posted the Terriers' only victory at the NCAAs. The following year, he came back with a 32-7 mark, while he was 24-4 along with his All-American recognition as a junior. He then capped off his career with a 32-4 record and his fourth straight trip to the national tournament.
