WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Sammy Davis of the Boston University women’s ice hockey team was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, as announced on Wednesday.

Davis was one of just two unanimous selections to the squad. In 24 league games, Davis led all Hockey East rookies with 13 goals and was second in points with 22, just one behind the leader. Overall, Davis finished the regular season with 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points.

This is the eighth straight season that BU has placed a skater on the All-Rookie squad. Davis is also the fifth unanimous selection in program history. She was also honored by the league as the Player of the Month for October.

BU will continue its quest for a fifth straight Hockey East championship on Saturday when the Terriers face off against No. 6 Northeastern in the league semifinals. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
