CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Following clinching the No. 3 seed in its regular season finale, Boston University women's soccer players
Jacki Carty and
Rachel Bloznalis each earned Patriot League weekly honors, as announced by the conference Monday.
Carty picked her first career Midfielder of the Week nod after scoring a pair of goals within a two-minute span on Saturday, guiding the Terriers to a 3-1 triumph over Colgate. The senior opened her scoring spurt in the 27th minute before following with a lunging score less than two minutes later. The product of Cherry Hill, New Jersey upped her season scoring total to three, furthering her career-high.
Bloznalis assisted on Carty's opening score, finding her slipping through Colgate's backline on a free kick. The Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year guided BU's defense to limit the Raiders to seven shots, including just two in the second half.
BU will host Lafayette on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. in a Patriot League quarterfinal matchup.
