Terriers Conclude Fall Season at Foot of the Charles

RESULTS
BOSTON - The Boston University women's openweight and lightweight rowing teams concluded their fall seasons on Saturday by competing in the Foot of the Charles Regatta. The day was highlighted by a first-place finish by the openweight varsity 4 boat in the 4+ competition and by a fourth-place overall finish by the lightweight V8 boat in the varsity 8 race competing against both openweight and lightweight competition.

The lightweight V8 finished with a time of 21:03.1, good for 4th place and behind only openweight crews from Harvard ("A"), Northeastern and Harvard ("B"). The lightweight V8 easily finished first among lightweight crews, well ahead of rival Harvard (7th - 21:34.3) and MIT (9th - 22:18.2).
The openweight V8 boat finished 5th in the V8 race with a time of 21.24.8. The BU 1V finished ahead of 12 boats in the field of 13.
The openweight varsity 4 finished first in its race with a time of 15:01.3 in a field of six. The Terriers' finished ahead of crews from NU, Harvard and MIT. The BU lightweight varsity 4 finished second in the same race with a time of 15:02.4.
In the novice/freshman 8 competition, the BU lightweight "A" boat finished second with a time of 14:00. The BU openweight novice 8 "A" finished sixth with a time of 15:12.7 and the openweight novice "B" was seventh (16:06.0).
Saturday's racing marked the conclusion of both teams' fall season. The openweights are scheduled to begin their spring season at the Doc Hosea Invite at Cooper River, N.J. on March 31. The lightweights will next compete in Clemson, S.C. at the Spring Break Regatta on March 10.
