
Poulin, Wakefield Named to Canadian Olympic Team

CALGARY, Alta. - Former Boston University women's ice hockey standouts Marie-Philip Poulin ('15) and Jenn Wakefield ('12) will represent Canada at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games at PyeongChang, South Korea, Hockey Canada announced on Friday.
This will be the third straight Olympics at which Poulin will skate for Canada, while Wakefield will be participating at her second consecutive Olympic Winter Games. Both alumnae won gold in 2014, with Poulin also taking home a gold medal in 2010.
During the recent six-game series against the United States, Poulin led all skaters with four goals and tied for the tournament lead with five points. Wakefield scored a goal and added an assist. Her lone goal came in overtime of the final game of the series on Dec. 17. Both players got on the scoresheet when Canada earned a 5-1 win over Team USA at Agganis Arena on Oct. 25.
Canada will begin its quest for gold on Feb. 11, 2018, against Russia. The gold-medal game is scheduled for Feb. 21.
