Harper Selected as Hockey East Player of the Week
December 4, 2017 | Men's Ice Hockey
After setting a career high in points to lead the Boston University men's ice hockey team to a win at archrival Boston College, sophomore Patrick Harper has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced on Monday.
Harper assisted on four of the Terriers' goals in a 7-4 victory at Conte Forum on Friday evening to snap the Eagles' eight-game unbeaten streak. The career-high point total vaulted Harper to the top of the league in scoring and he is now second with 19 points on six goals and a league-best 13 assists.
The Terriers were quickly in a 2-0 hole on Friday before responding with three consecutive goals. Harper assisted on BU's game-tying goal and after the score was knotted 3-3 later the game, the sophomore went on to assist on three of BU's final four goals to clinch the victory.
This is the third time in Harper's career that he has earned Hockey East's top weekly honor.
