Terrier Trio Tabbed as New England All-Stars
March 31, 2017 | Women's Ice Hockey
BOSTON – Three Boston University women's ice hockey standouts were selected as New England Division I All-Stars, as announced on Friday.
Senior goaltender Victoria Hanson, junior forward Victoria Bach and graduate student Mary Parker were all honored by the New England Hockey Writers Association for their terrific seasons. No other school boasts more all-stars than BU.
Hanson, a Hockey East First Team All-Star, was terrific between the pipes this season for the Terriers. Starting all 28 games in each she appeared, Hanson finished the season with a career-high .927 save percentage and a 2.37 goals-against average to go along with two shutouts. With the Terriers fighting for home ice in the playoffs, Hanson went 4-0-0 in the last four games of the regular season, posting a league-high .945 save percentage and a conference-low 1.75 goals-against average.
Bach was also a Hockey East First Team All-Star after her career year. She led Hockey East with a career-high 49 points thanks to career highs in goals (23) and assists (26). Bach became just the second player in program history to record 20 goals in three straight seasons and she also became the 10th Terrier to reach the 100-point milestone. No league player averaged more points per game (1.36) or shots on goal per game (5.08) than Bach.
Parker, a Hockey East Second Team All-Star, enjoyed much success in her lone year as a Terrier. She led Hockey East and finished fourth in the country with 24 goals, and she also added 21 assists for 45 points. Parker scored a goal on 19 different occasions, most among any New England-based player, and compiled a nine-game goal streak in November en route to being named Hockey East Player of the Month. She also finished the season on a seven-game point streak.
At least one BU player has been named a New England Division I All-Star for each of the last 10 seasons.
