BOSTON – Boston University will host the 2020 Women's Frozen Four at Agganis Arena, the NCAA announced on Tuesday.
This will be the second time that Agganis Arena will host a Women's Frozen Four; BU was also the site of the 2009 championship weekend. A two-time NCAA finalist and six-time NCAA Tournament participant, BU will become just the second Hockey East school to host the event twice since its inception in 2001. The 2020 Women's Frozen Four will cap what will be the Terriers' 15
th season at the Division I level.
"We are incredibly proud to be selected as the host for the 20th NCAA Women's Frozen Four," said
Drew Marrochello, BU's director of athletics. "The Boston hockey scene in March is second to none and will certainly make for a terrific atmosphere for the participating teams and their fans. It will be a great privilege to showcase the sport's best talent on our campus."
All four Frozen Fours in this four-year cycle will take place in the East. Quinnipiac (2019), Mercyhurst (2021) and Penn State (2022) were the other hosts selected. This will be the fourth time an NCAA national championship will be contested on the Boston University campus. In addition to the 2009 Frozen Four, the 1984 and 2006 women's lacrosse championships were decided at BU.

Opened in 2005, Agganis Arena is a 290,000-square-foot multipurpose sports and entertainment center with 6,150 seats for hockey and ice shows and expandable to over 7,000 seats for concerts, sporting events, and family shows.
