Terriers Finish Fifth at PL Championships

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, PA - Highlighted by a silver medal performance by the 4x400 relay team and a record breaking performance by Jason Biesma, the Boston University men's track & field team finished fifth at the 2018 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championship, which concluded Sunday at Bucknell's Gerhard Fieldhouse.
Biesman broke his own school record in the heptathlon with 5041 points to win silver. In all, the Terriers recorded nine top-five finishes to earn 62 points as a team and finish fifth. Navy won its sixth-straight league title with 240 points, followed by Army (197), Bucknell (117) and Lehigh (81.5).

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Competing in the two-day heptathlon, senior Jason Biesma earned 5041 points to break his own school record of 4926 points which he set at the back in December. Biesma finished second to earn a silver medal, just behind Lehigh's Trevor Knowles (5313 points).
- Freshman Nikolas Smith finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 49.60 to win bronze while senior Cameron Nurse finished just off the podium in fourth with a time of 50.02.
- In the final event of the meet, the 4x400m relay team of Nikolas Smith, Robie Webster, Haig Rickerby, Cameron Nurse finished second with a time of 3:18.62 to win silver.
- Nurse also qualified for the finals of the 200m dash and finished fourth with a time of 21.97.
- Competing in the men's 1-mile run, sophomore Johnathon Kemps finished fourth with a time of 4:12.80 to earn the Terriers five team points in the first running event of the meet.
- Junior Robie Webster finished fifth in the 500m run with a time of 1:06.53. Webster also qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles and finished eighth (8.72).
- Sophomore Michael Huber finished fifth in the 800m run with a time of 1:57.03.
