Bach Earns First Team All-America Accolades
March 15, 2018 | Women's Ice Hockey
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Senior Victoria Bach became just the second Boston University women's ice hockey player to be named a CCM/AHCA First Team All-American, as announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday night.
A top-three finalist for the 2018 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, Bach joins three-time Olympic medalist Marie-Philip Poulin as a first-team selection. Poulin earned that recognition as a senior in 2015. Former standouts Catherine Ward ('11) and Sarah Lefort ('16) have also been selected as All-Americans.
Bach rewrote the Terrier record book in her senior season. The unanimous Hockey East First Team All-Star is second in the NCAA in goals (39) and fifth in the country with 67 points; those two marks are new single-season program records. Bach also scored her 100th career goal on Feb. 13, becoming the first player in school history to tally 100 goals at BU. In addition, Bach broke Lefort's program record of 183 career points and concluded her illustrious career with 198 points (104g, 94a).
The Milton, Ontario, native leads the NCAA in goals per game (1.18) and shots on goal per game (6.70), and is second in the country in points per game (2.03). Bach is also first in the nation in even-strength goals (30), road goals (24) and goals away from home (31). She recorded 10 multi-goal games and is the only NCAA player to notch four hat tricks and two four-goal games this season. Bach's overall numbers may have been even better had she not missed four games in the middle of the season to serve as an assistant captain for Canada at the 2018 Nations Cup.
The winner of the 2018 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award will be announced on Saturday morning.
