
Bach, Cook, Leslie Selected as Hockey East All-Stars

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Three Boston University women's ice hockey players were selected as Hockey East All-Stars, the league announced at its annual awards banquet on Friday night.
Senior forward Victoria Bach and sophomore defender Abby Cook were both First Team All-Stars while senior captain Rebecca Leslie garnered second-team accolades. For the second straight year, BU boasted multiple first-team honorees.
Bach, a three-time Hockey East All-Star, was a unanimous first-team selection for the second straight year while Leslie earned her second appearance on a league all-star squad. Cook, who earned a spot on the WHEA All-Rookie Team a year ago, was tabbed as a league all-star for the first time.
One of three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award, Bach enjoyed one of the finest seasons in program history. She finished the regular season second in the league with 36 goals and also added 25 assists for 61 points, good for third in Hockey East. Her 1.20 goals per game and 6.63 shots on goal per game ranked first among conference skaters, and Bach led all of Hockey East with 29 goals at even strength, 21 goals on the road and 28 goals away from home. The Milton, Ontario, native concluded the 2017-18 campaign with a program-record 39 goals and 28 assists for a program-record 67 points.
Cook was consistently one of the top blue liners in the conference this season. A terrific two-way player, Cook led all NCAA defenders with 23 assists and also added two goals for 25 total points, good for second in the conference. Cook posted four assists in a contest on two separate occasions, including once in a crucial league game at Merrimack. She finished the year as a plus-9 and generated 1.94 shots on goal per game while consistently skating against an opponent's top line. Overall, Cook finished with a career-best 26 points thanks to a career-high 24 assists in addition to a pair of goals.
Leslie shined for the Terriers in her final year at BU and will graduate as the program's all-time assists leader with 102 career helpers. She finished the regular season fourth in the league with 30 assists and fifth in the conference with a career-high 51 points. Leslie also tallied a career-high 21 goals prior to the postseason and finished as a plus-26. She recorded at least two points in 60 percent of her games and in 21 different contests when including the playoffs. Overall, Leslie totaled a career-best 57 points thanks to a career-high 24 goals and 33 assists, which is one shy of her single-season best of 34. She also became the first Terrier in program history to record 20 goals and 30 assists in the same season.
