Greenway Signs With Wild, Set to Make NHL Debut Tuesday
March 27, 2018 | Men's Ice Hockey
After three seasons at Boston University, junior forward Jordan Greenway has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League. The Canton, N.Y., native is set to make his NHL debut on Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators.
This past season, Greenway helped the Terriers reach the NCAA Regional finals for the second consecutive year and he tied for the team lead in points with 35 on 13 goals and 22 assists. He finishes his BU career with 92 points (28g, 64a) in 112 contests. Earlier this month, he was named a Hockey East Third Team All-Star before earning spots on the Hockey East and NCAA Northeast Regional all-tournament teams.
Before taking his first NHL shift, Greenway already has an extensive international resume. He was one of four collegians on Team USA at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics in February and also played for the U.S. National Team at the 2017 World Championship. At the 2017 World Junior Championship, Greenway and five of his Terrier teammates helped Team USA capture gold. He also won a gold medal at the 2015 U18 World Championship.
Greenway, an assistant captain, was a driving force in the Terriers' late-season surge, as the team went 13-1-2 in his final 16 games at BU with the lone loss coming on Sunday in the Northeast Regional final. He put up 24 points (9g, 15a) in his final 19 contests and had at least one point in nine of his final 10.
Greenway will become the 82nd Boston University hockey player to play in the NHL on Tuesday in Nashville. He is expected to be on a line with former Terrier Charlie Coyle. The Wild are currently in the middle of a playoff race with 93 points on the season, good for third in the Central Division.
