
Bach, Cook, Leslie Named New England All-Stars

BOSTON - Three Boston University women's ice hockey standouts were recognized by the New England Hockey Writers Association on Wednesday, as senior Victoria Bach, sophomore Abby Cook and senior Rebecca Leslie were all named New England Division I All-Stars.
One of three finalists for the 2018 Patty Kazmaier Award, Bach scored a program-record 39 goals and added 28 assists for a school-best 67 points en route to earning First Team All-America accolades. The unanimous Hockey East First Team All-Star finished second in the NCAA in goals and fifth in the country with in points while also leading the NCAA in goals per game (1.18) and shots on goal per game (6.70). Bach was also second in the country in points per game (2.03) and paced the nation in even-strength goals (30), road goals (24) and goals away from home (31).
Cook was consistently one of the top blue liners in the region this season and was selected as a Hockey East First Team All-Star for the first time in her brief career. A terrific two-way player, Cook was third among all NCAA defenders with a career-high 24 assists and also added two goals for a career-best 26 total points, good for second among New England defenders. Cook posted four assists in a contest on two separate occasions, including once in a crucial league game at Merrimack. She finished the year as a plus-7 and generated 1.89 shots on goal per game while consistently skating against an opponent's top line.
Leslie, a Hockey East Second Team All-Star, shined for the Terriers in her final year at BU and will graduate as the program's all-time assists leader with 102 career helpers. She finished the regular season sixth among Division I players with 33 assists and seventh in Division I with a career-high 57 points. Leslie also tallied a career-high 24 goals and finished as a plus-26. She recorded at least two points in 63.6 percent of her games and in 21 different contests. Leslie also became the first Terrier in program history to record 20 goals and 30 assists in the same season.
At least one BU player has been named a New England Division I All-Star for each of the last 11 seasons.
