WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman
Ali DuBois tallied a total of 20 strikeouts and seven of her teammates combined for 17 hits to help the Boston University softball claim a doubleheader sweep at Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon.
After scoring the first seven runs in the 9-4 game-one win, the Terriers overcame an early deficit with four runs in the third en route to a 6-3 game-two victory to improve to 25-17 and extend the win streak to seven contests. They now sit atop the Patriot League standings at 7-2, just ahead of the 9-3 Bucknell Bison, and help push BU's lead to 13-4 lead against Holy Cross (8-23, 2-7 PL) in the Turnpike Trophy all-sports competition.
DuBois became the second consecutive freshman pitcher to claim Turnpike Trophy MVP accolades after sophomore
