Final Results
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Three Terriers finished inside the top 10 as the Boston University golf team took third at the 2018 Patriot League Women's Golf Championship this weekend at the Naval Academy Golf Course.
BU saved its best for Sunday's final round, as the Terriers turned in their best team total of the 54-hole tournament. They combined for a 312 in the final round for a two-day score of 963 (325-326-312). Richmond defended its title with a score of 943, three shots better than second-place Navy (946). Bucknell finished fourth (971), followed by Lehigh (979) and Holy Cross (1061).
Sophomore
Zhangcheng Guo was among the top five individuals for the entire tournament and finished in a tie for fifth at 236 (77-81-78). In addition to earning a First Team All-Patriot League selection, she was named Turnpike Trophy MVP for her performance as the Terriers took yet another point in the annual competition between BU and Holy Cross.Â
Junior
Megan Carter carded a 75 on Sunday to finish just one stroke back of Guo in seventh with a 237 (83-79-75). Her final-round 75 was the team's best individual round of the weekend. Carter claimed Second Team All-Patriot League accolades, her third consecutive All-Patriot League nod. She was second among all players with eight birdies on the weekend, and she combined to play the par-3s and par-5s at +1.
Senior
Phyllis Tang closed her impressive collegiate career with a 76 on Sunday. A two-time First Team All-Patriot League selection, Tang tied for ninth with a total of 241 (81-84-76) for her third top-10 effort at the conference championship. She earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors on Sunday for her performance.
Sophomore
Abby Parsons (84-83-84) and freshman
Katerina Doleckova (85-83-83) tied for 21st with a 54-hole score of 251.
The Terriers tallied 21 birdies as a team on the weekend, which ranked second in the six-team field. BU also led all schools in par-3 scoring (3.38) and was second in par-4 scoring (4.58).
BU will have a veteran group back on campus next year, as the Terriers will return four of the five players that competed this weekend.
