BOSTON - The Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame held its 54th induction ceremony on Saturday at Agganis Arena's Francis D. Burke Club Room as a group of eight Terrier standouts comprised the Class of 2022.
Marie-Philip Poulin '15 (ice hockey), Tahari James Castilla '09 (track & field), Joachim Kaland '02 (soccer), Megan Cross Hannon '02 (soccer), John T. Lamendola '96 (tennis), Sara Field Gronewold '94 (rowing), Anthony Kenneally '88 (track & field) and Mark Fidler '81 (ice hockey) officially joined the list of all-time greats in the BU Athletic Hall of Fame.
In addition to the inductees, the Hall of Fame presented the
Aldo "Buff" Donelli Memorial Leadership Award to
Ann Marie Jaworski '22 (soccer) and
Logan Cockerill '22 (ice hockey). Longtime supporter Bob Moses '68 was the recipient of the
Roger "Moose" Washburn Memorial Award and Colin Riley, BU's executive director of media relations, was presented with the
Murray Kramer Memorial Award. Bob Dallis '86, former BU men's tennis head coach and current head coach for Dartmouth women's tennis, was selected as the winner of the
William French Memorial Award and Erica Di Battista, a senior on the women's tennis team, was awarded the
Irv Heller Hall of Fame Scholarship.
The Department of Athletics also recognized four of its
Title IX Trailblazers of Distinction in conjunction with the Patriot League as Sally Starr (field hockey), Nancy Feldman (soccer), Lesley Sheehan (tennis) were joined by Jeanne Friedman, who represented the Terriers' 1973-74 women's rowing team.
Doug Brown '78, the voice of BU men's basketball, served as emcee for the event, which was attended by over 175 people.
