One of the finest oarsmen ever to have been associated with Boston University, Ted Nash was a member of the U.S. crews that won a gold medal in the 1960 Olympics and gold medals in the Pan American Games in Chicago and Brazil.

Nash was an eight-time U.S. national champion, and in 1960, he was named to the Helms Athletic Hall of Fame.

Equally successful as a coach, he guided the freshman crew at Penn to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association title four years in a row. In his first two years as varsity coach at Penn, his crews finished first and third at nationals.
