Terriers Take Down Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Sophomore Jose Leon (Santa Ana, CA) defeated Ben Garner by technical fall, 26-11, at 125 pounds to help lead the Boston University wrestling team to a 22-18 win over West Point in New York on January 27.
The meet was tied at 15 after seven matches until sophomore Chad Grant (Eaton Rapids, MI) and junior Ali Abri (Ashland, VA) each posted wins to put the Terriers ahead to stay. Grant earned a 4-3 decision over Craig Cooper at 184 while Abri defeated Jon Paxton, 16-5 at 197.
Senior Zak Emond defeated Auggie Dominguez, 5-4 in overtime at 165 to provide one of the more exciting matches of the day.
The win improved the Terriers record to 3-3 overall. They will next travel to East Stroudsburg on Friday, February 2 for the next dual matchup.
