Rider Blanks Terrier Wrestlers

BOSTON -- Sophomore Ed Strauss (Macungie, PA) was pinned by Vinny D-Agostino at 8:15 of double overtime in a hard-fought battle at heavyweight as Rider University defeated the Boston University wrestling team, 33-0 on January 26.
Despite failing to win a match, the Terriers put forth some gritty efforts against Rider, an honorable mention in the latest INTERMAT polls.
Senior Malik Elliot (Park Forest, IL) lost, 6-5, to Nick Harrington, ranked 3rd in the ECWA at 149. At 184, sophomore Chad Grant (Eaton Rapids, MI) faced ECWA Wrestler of the Week, Shawn Scannel, ranked ninth nationally and held his own for a good portion of the match, eventually falling, 5-1.
With the loss, BU dropped to 1-3 in the ECWA.
