January 8, 2001 | Men's Wrestling
Junior Ali Abri (Ashland, PA) defeated Matt Dadino by a major decision at 197 pounds, 22-10, but Hofstra, ranked No. 13 in the nation in the pre-season polls, was too much as it defeated the Terrier wrestling team, 33-10 at Case Gym on Sunday.
It was the first ECWA match of the season for the Terriers.
Senior Zack Emond (Lake Zurich, IL) and Sophomore Chad Grant (Eaton Rapids, MI) each won by decision at 174 and 184 pounds, respectively. Emond defeated Anthony Morbillo, 4-3 to earn the Terriers' first points of the afternoon.
Grant posted a 9-6 decision over Ralph Everett for B.U., which is without six key members with injuries, including senior Malik Elliott. The Terriers were forced to forfeit their matches at 149 and 165 pounds.
B.U. will host Sacred Heart next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Case Gym, the second of a four-meet homestand for the Terriers.
