Wrestling Terriers ranked Seventh in CAA preseason poll

BOSTON - The Colonial Athletic Association has announced its preseason ranking for the upcoming 2001-2002 season. The poll, which is determined by the coaches of the CAA, has Boston University ranked seventh in the 12-team conference.
The Terriers, in their first year as members of the CAA, have six wrestlers ranked in individual weight classes. Junior Jose Leon was voted second at 125-pounds and senior Chad Grant received the same ranking in the 184-pound weight class. Junior Jason Holder was voted sixth at 149-pounds and senior Ali Abri received a fifth place ranking at 174-pounds.

Junior Ed Strauss is ranked sixth at 184-pounds while sophomore Leighton Brady is fifth in his first year at B.U. after transferring from Seaton Hall
The Terriers will field a squad that includes the six wrestlers ranked in the preseason conference poll. They also boast two members of the All-Conference Rookie Team. B.U. finished fifth in the ECAC last season, in which it had two NCAA qualifiers.
