Terriers Open Season with Win Over Wildcats

Freshman Chris Collins (Pheonix, AZ) won three individual events in his collegiate debut as the Terrier men's swim team opened its 2001-2002 season defeating America East conference-foe New Hampshire, 176-120, on Saturday (November 3rd).
Collins showed his versatility, winning the 50-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke, and the 200-yard individual medley.
Seniors David Rosado (Madrid, Spain) and Jeff Graves (Rockwell, TX) each won two events to pace the Terriers.
Rosado won two events--the 500-yard freestyle, winning in a time of 4:47.35, and the 1000-yard freestyle, in a time of 10:17.11.
Graves won both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly races, winning the 100 in 52.70 and the 200 in 1:59.73.
Rosado and Graves teamed with sophomores Ryo Takano (Ardsley, NY) and Jay Toutant (Madison, WI) to take first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:18.99.
Freshman Victor Paquia (Lake Forest, IL) won both the 1- and 3-meter diving competitions in his collegiate debut.
The Terriers, whose win was the fourth consecutive season-opening victory over the Wildcats, will travel to UMass/Amhearst this Saturday for a non-conference meet.
