Slutsky, Abri Compete At The Wilkes Open

BOSTON - Jason Slutsky and Ali Abri traveled to Wilkes-Barre, PA where nationally ranked teams such as Illinois, Lehigh, and Pennsylvania, along with several others, gathered to compete in the Wilkes Open.
Wrestling for the first time this season, Slutsky compiled a 1-2 record in the 125-pound weight class. After falling to Billy Thomas (unattached) in his first match, Slutsky rebounded by defeating Charles Busch (Old Dominion) before ultimately falling to Nick Simmons (Michigan State).
Abri finished fourth in the 174-pound weight class. He recorded four quick victories before dropping two close matches. Abri's wins included a technical fall against Brock Hostetter (Bucknell) and decisions over Randy Pyle (Pittburgh-Johnstown), Mike Helm (Unattached) and P.J. Jones (Harvard).
