Wrestling Falls At Brown, 19-17

Providence, RI - After a strong early start, the Boston University wrestling squad dropped a 19-17 decision at Brown on Saturday (Jan. 19) afternoon.
The Terriers won four of the first lowest weight classes to begin the match, with their only loss coming as a result of a forfeit. After a 7-5 win by Leighton Brady (Tulsa, OK) in the 157-pound weight class, the Terriers led 14-6.
Junior Jose Leon (Santa Ana, CA) won at 125 in a technical fall to start the match, and freshman Joseph Rivera (Stroudsburg, PA) followed it with a 7-2 decision in the 133 pound class. Senior Jason Holder (Salem, NH) was a 7-4 winner at 149.
Brown turned its fortunes around after that, winning four of the last five classes to take the slim, 19-17, win. Senior Ali Abri (Ashland, VA) took a 12-7 decision in the 184-pound weight class.
Brown was a 27-16 winner in an earlier matchup against Sacred Heart. B. U.'s overall record falls to 3-2.
The Terriers next wrestle on Saturday, Jan. 26, against Army. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at B. U.'s Case Gym.
